About Us

Rob Avery created World Parody Productions in 1989.  A huge fan of horror since he was a child, Rob’s goal is to make quality horror flicks that fans can enjoy.

Rob spent most of his teenage years heading up to Diamond Video in Huber Heights to rent horror flicks. He didn’t just watch the movies he envisioned someday making them. He read books like “Grande Illusions” by Tom Savini and “Do it Yourself Monster Make-up Handbook by Dick Smith.  He learned gore effects and started making short movies. He later went to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh to perfect his skills in horror make-up and gore effects. He made two feature length amateur films ( Loonitic the movie, and Scream for Christmas ) before getting a budget and making Slashers Gone Wild. Slashers Gone Wild stars Robyn Griggs ( Actress from soaps Another World and One Life to Live) as the sinister Alicia who holds a contest to see who the most brutal slasher in the country . In Slashers Gone Wild Rob raised the bar when it comes to gore effects and horror.  Through the years Rob has assembled a faithful crew of gorehounds that help him with his projects: Mandee Keith, Raz, Maria Gilbert, Matt Dear,and Nick Legend

   World Parody Productions crew members are fans of the horror genre, and all possess a tireless energy to crank out quality horror flicks. Mandy Keith joined up with WPP in 1995 as an actress and later added special make-up effects to her resume. She has a badge of honor that no one else possesses. She has been killed in every movie that Rob has made since 1995. She has also been a valuable member of his crew. Raz joined up with WPP in 2003. He is the official “ villain “ of WPP.  He stars in Slashers Gone Wild as Rob the Slasher and he is also the character The Rotting Man in the upcoming feature “ One Night “ from WPP. Raz also helps out with special effects and camera. Raz is also a talented musician. Raz's vocals can be heard on the soundtrack of Slashers Gone Wild.   Morphic Resonance have been involved with WPP sound tracks for over 10 years. They are also one of the biggest and most popular bands in the state of Ohio. Braille Korp joined up as an actor for Slashers Gone Wild and also played music for the soundtrack. Braille gets his face ripped off in the Truth or Dare segment of the movie. Maria Gilbert( Wicked Art) is the Art director and assistant make-up artist. Nick Legend, talented actor, and also directed a short film for the Wicked Art television show. Matt Dear, just call him the Swiss Army knife of Worldparody. He has provided them with buisness cards, assistant with set teardown, prop building,stand in actor, special effects tester, bringer of Munchkin cards, and is an over all nice guy.
